Weddings in Palm Desert

Fairway ceremonies, ballroom receptions.

Palm Desert is golf and resort country. A typical wedding here starts on a lawn beside a fairway or a lake, with the Santa Rosa Mountains behind the arch, then moves into a ballroom or a covered patio for dinner and dancing. Desert Willow Golf Resort, for example, pairs a fairway-side ceremony lawn with an indoor ballroom. Private estates and country clubs around the city follow a similar pattern.

Two very different rooms

An open lawn and a ballroom need different sound. Outdoors, there is nothing for sound to bounce off, so the ceremony needs speakers close to the guests and a dedicated officiant mic. Indoors, the same volume can feel harsh. This is where The Full Wedding earns its price: the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception each get a system tuned to that space, and they are all set before your first guest arrives.

Sprinklers, golf carts and timing

Golf course lawns are watered on a schedule, and courses may still have play nearby in the afternoon. Ask your venue to confirm that irrigation is off for your ceremony area, and when the lawn is yours to set up. Guests at bigger clubs sometimes move between spaces by cart or a long walk, so build a few extra minutes into the timeline. We cover the gap with cocktail hour music that starts as the first guests arrive.

Warm days, cold nights

The desert swings hard between day and night. A pleasant 80 degree afternoon in March can turn into a chilly evening, and winter nights are cold. Many couples plan heaters for an outdoor reception or keep dancing indoors. Spring afternoons can also bring gusty wind, so confirm your venue's backup plan and its rules for outdoor amplified music, then let us plan around both.

Lighting that does the work

Ballrooms can feel large and plain once the sun goes down. Dance floor lighting is in every package, and uplights in your colors (from $50 each, 8 minimum) change the whole room for a modest cost.

Booths

Bring the booth to the guests.

On a big resort property, guests spread out. A roaming attendant finds them on the patio, at the bar and on the dance floor.

FAQ

Palm Desert questions.

Is there a travel fee for Palm Desert?

Yes. Palm Desert is past the 75 miles of Los Angeles that our packages include, so travel is $2 per mile one way, counted from Los Angeles. You see the exact amount on your quote.

Our ceremony is on a golf course lawn. Do you need power out there?

It helps, but not always. We can run ceremony sound on battery powered speakers when an outlet is too far away. Confirm the layout with us at the planning call.

Can you work with our resort's vendor rules?

Yes. We send our certificate of insurance on request and coordinate load-in, power and timing with the venue's event team.

Is it worth adding uplighting in a ballroom?

Often, yes. Uplights are one of the most cost-effective ways to make a large room feel like yours. They start at $50 per light with an 8 light minimum, or come as part of Premiere.
